Animal abandonments are on the rise in Calgary as owners unable to find pet-friendly rental properties choose to leave their furry friends behind, say authorities.

Agency supports Lets with Pets scheme

LETTING agency Martin & Co, which covers Camberley, Windlesham, Lightwater, Sandhurst, Yateley, Bagshot, Bracknell and Wokingham has pledged its support to Lets with Pets, a scheme run by charity Dogs Trust.

The group found that 43 percent of those surveyed said they are current pet owners, and more than a quarter noted that they plan to get a pet within the next year. Even among those who weren’t pet owners, 34 percent still said they wanted to have the option of having a pet.
